What a mess this deck was to start, the homeowner came to us after firing the previous contractor for obvious reason. The deck was horrible, bouncy and no angles were right. We stripped the half completed decking off, added support beams beneath the existing joists, then added new joists to make them 1' on center (they were 2' on center), and re-decked it with a herringbone pattern. Considering what we started with, both us and the homeowner were very pleased with the final outcome.
